"Company History"
ROADRUNNERFOOT ENGINEERING SRL was born on March the 13th, 2007 on initiative
of 6 associates with a joint stock of 10.000€, but an avaible budget for 2007 of 75.000€ to support Research and Developemnt
investments to manufacture the first products: a foot for sprinting, a walking foot, carbon fiber pylons
and silicon Shock Absorbers.
From a huge found raising we found economic resouces to overtake the start-up phase.
We won the following contests:
- "Premio Brambilla 2006" about new start-up companies, promoted by Comune di Milano, which gave to Bonacini

We are proud to participated to 5 contests all won: 100% of success.
The first months was been dedicated to manufacturing of product's prototypes
and to get a patent for our foot for sprinting, the Sprinter's King, patented on November the 9th,2007.
The experience obtained by Roadrunnerfoot's Team in making this new foot, has define a new methodology in design of aids
for disabled people, that's been moved to the design of the new walking foot, Roadwalking, patented on February
11th, 2008.
This kind of methodology is unique, none of our competitors use it, because it requires vanguard and high cost
technologies, like optoelectronic systems, and comprise the following phases:
- Gait Analysis with optoelectronic system and force platform on normal people and amputees with common
prosthetic components.
- Analysis of functional limits of competitors devices.
- Definition of design specifications and targets.
- Design of the components.
- Structural analysis (FEM Analysis) and simulation on the components in working condition (spatial trajectories
and ground reactions forces).
- Prototyping, testing on machines according to ISO 10328.
- Validation of the design through Gait Analysis on disables wearing aids.
During this year we manufacture several devices to supply to our clients,
orthopaedic laboratories, all the components they need to assemble a prosthesis:
silicon pads or Shock Absprber, Silicon Liner, which will be manufactured soon, Carbon Fiber Pylon, materials to
made the socket like slavees, mats and tapes made of carbon fiber, PE, PP Sheets and Epoxy Resin, modular adapters to connect
socket to pylon and pylon to foot made of stainless steel and soon of titanium, a carbon fiber foot with high performances,
an aesthetic cover highly polished, to meet the female target, made by silicon and polyurethane.
We just started the design of a new foot for elder people and an ultra light carbon fiber wheelchair that we'll launch
during 2009.
