The research and the continuum innovation is the soul of the company.
The first developed product was the running foot, the Sprinter’s King because the running foot sees applied loads, deformations, foot’s efficiency, energy release with very high values; the running foot is the Formula 1 among all prosthesis. (patented Europe and USA 2007).
The following years, in 2008 Roadrunnerfoot realized:
Roadrunnerfoot is nowadays the leader (Clinical Engineering Handbook 2019 Chapter 69 Evolution of prosthetic feet and design based on gait analysis data ) in research, development, and production of devices for disabled people thanks to the unique operational process: each product is conceived meeting the user’s needs as a healthy limb. This modus operandi requires vanguard and high-cost technologies, like optoelectronic systems, and consists of the following steps:
1
Gait Analysis with optoelectronic systems and measurements from a piezoelectric force platform generated by healthy limbs and by amputees applying commonly used prosthetic components.
2
Tridimensional Analysis of kinematic and dynamics of able people walking and running.
3
Mechanical and functional Analysis of competitors’ components.
4
Definition of features and goals of the new aids.
5
Design of component and choice of material.
6
FEM Analysis and simulation on the component during static and dynamic conditions.
7
Prototyping, pre-serie, and mechanical testing according to ISO 10328.
8
Risk and process analysis.
9
Patenting.
10
Start of Production.
